Branson Windstorm Flips Over a Dozen Cars and Rolls Them Down the Street Like Toys

A violent windstorm packing 175 mph winds slammed through Branson on Monday afternoon, flipping more than a dozen cars into the air and sending them tumbling and rolling wildly down a residential street.

Dramatic video footage shows vehicles being lifted off the ground, spinning end over end, and sliding hundreds of feet as the extreme gusts tore through the neighborhood. Several cars ended up piled on top of one another, overturned in ditches, or pushed far from their original parking spots.

One resident who captured the chaos on video said, “I heard this insane roar and looked outside to see cars flying and flipping through the air like toys. It was absolutely terrifying.”

The powerful storm caused major damage across the area. In addition to the flipped and rolling cars, roofs were torn off homes, large trees were snapped like toothpicks, and power lines were knocked down, leaving hundreds without electricity.

First responders described the scene as one of the most intense they’ve ever witnessed. Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported so far, though multiple vehicles were heavily damaged or totaled.

The National Weather Service confirmed the storm produced straight-line winds reaching 175 mph, making it one of the strongest non-tornado wind events on record in the region.

Residents are still in shock as they begin cleanup and file insurance claims. Some car owners have already started posting photos of their destroyed vehicles with captions like “Gently used by 175 mph Branson winds.”

Cleanup crews are working around the clock to clear debris and restore power. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

This powerful windstorm serves as a stark reminder of how quickly severe weather can strike in the Ozarks. Residents are urged to stay alert as more strong storms remain possible in the coming days.
