Drivers traveling along Highway 76, Branson’s main tourist strip, got a major surprise this week as the entire road was painted in bright rainbow colors to celebrate Pride Month.

Aerial photos show the long curving stretch of Highway 76 now covered in vibrant stripes of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. The colorful transformation runs past major attractions including the Ferris wheel, Silver Dollar City area, and several popular shops and restaurants, making it one of the most eye-catching displays in the Ozarks right now.
The project was completed overnight using durable, temporary road paint designed to withstand traffic while remaining visible for the month of June. Local organizers say the goal was to create a bold, welcoming statement for Pride Month in one of Missouri’s biggest tourism destinations.
“It looks incredible from up above,” said one Branson business owner who watched the work being done. “Highway 76 is the heartbeat of this town during tourist season. Seeing it lit up in rainbow colors is something people are going to remember for a long time.”
Visitors and locals alike have been pulling over to take photos and videos of the rainbow road. Cars can still drive normally on the painted surface, but the bright colors have created a festive atmosphere along the busy corridor. Many tourists have posted drone footage and ground-level shots online, with the images quickly spreading across social media.
Sarah Thompson, a longtime Branson resident, said she was shocked when she drove the strip this morning. “I’ve driven Highway 76 thousands of times, but never like this. It’s beautiful and it makes you smile when you see it. My kids keep asking me to drive it again just so they can see the colors.”
The rainbow road paint is expected to stay in place through the end of Pride Month. Officials say the special paint is safe for vehicles and will gradually fade or be removed afterward without damaging the asphalt.
This is the latest in a series of Pride Month events and displays happening across Branson. The city has seen growing support for inclusive celebrations in recent years as it continues to welcome millions of visitors each summer.
Whether you’re in town for the shows, the lakes, or the theme parks, the rainbow Highway 76 has quickly become one of the most photographed spots in Branson right now.
The colorful transformation has already sparked plenty of conversation both locally and online, turning a normal drive through town into a memorable Pride Month experience.
