Branson has done it again. A brand-new Burger King restaurant has opened — built entirely on massive steel stilts and pillars rising high above the waters of Table Rock Lake.

The eye-catching location features the full Burger King building perched dozens of feet in the air, supported by thick concrete and steel pillars that extend down into the lake. Customers reach the restaurant by walking across a long sky bridge from the shoreline. The large red “BURGER KING” sign is clearly visible from the water and surrounding hills.
The unique stilt-supported design gives diners sweeping views of Table Rock Lake and the Ozarks while they eat. On a sunny day, the restaurant appears to float above the water, though it is firmly anchored by the heavy support structure below.
Visitors have been pouring in since the grand opening. “It’s wild. You’re literally eating a Whopper while looking down at boats passing underneath you,” said one customer. “The sky bridge is a little scary if you’re afraid of heights, but it’s worth it for the experience.”
Engineers designed the stilt system to withstand the lake’s conditions and high winds common in the area. The restaurant includes indoor seating, large windows overlooking the water, and what staff are calling one of the most scenic drive-thru views in the country (though the drive-thru lane is on the shore level with food delivered via the bridge).
Local tourism leaders are already calling the stilt Burger King a major new attraction. It joins Branson’s long list of over-the-top themed and unusual eateries and landmarks. Some residents, however, are scratching their heads at the engineering and cost of building a fast food restaurant in such a dramatic location.
The floating-on-stilts Burger King is now open daily. Officials say they will monitor the structure closely during its first season, especially during storms. For now, it’s drawing huge crowds of curious tourists willing to make the trek across the sky bridge for burgers with a view.
This is yet another example of Branson’s “only in Branson” spirit — taking something ordinary like fast food and turning it into a spectacle people will talk about for years.
The situation (and the burgers) are fresh and ongoing. More updates and visitor reactions as this unique location settles into Branson’s tourist scene.
