Branson has officially taken its reputation for wild attractions to an entirely new level. A floating Chick-fil-A restaurant has opened on Table Rock Lake, allowing customers to boat right up to the counter and order their chicken sandwiches while floating on the water.
The unique floating location is anchored just off the shoreline and features a full Chick-fil-A menu, complete with a boat-friendly service window. Customers are pulling up in everything from pontoon boats and jet skis to kayaks and fishing boats to grab their meals. Staff members are even wearing life vests while taking orders and handing out food.
One excited customer who boated up on opening day said, “I never thought I’d be eating Chick-fil-A nuggets while sitting in the middle of Table Rock Lake. This is peak Branson. You order, they hand it to you from the dock, and you just float there eating it. It’s amazing.”
The floating restaurant includes a covered seating area on the deck for those who want to stay and eat on the water, along with a small dock for tying up boats. On busy days, lines of watercraft have reportedly formed, creating a floating drive-thru scene that’s drawing huge crowds of tourists and locals alike.
Branson officials are calling the floating Chick-fil-A a major win for the area’s tourism industry. “We already have shows, go-karts, and zip lines. Now you can get a Chick-fil-A sandwich without ever leaving your boat,” one tourism representative joked. “This is exactly the kind of unique experience people come to Branson for.”
Not everyone is thrilled, however. Some longtime lake residents are complaining about increased boat traffic and noise near the floating restaurant. Others are questioning how the business will handle rough water, storms, or winter weather on the lake.
Still, the majority of feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Social media is flooded with photos and videos of people eating chicken sandwiches while anchored next to the floating restaurant, with many calling it “the most Branson thing ever.”
Chick-fil-A has not confirmed whether this floating location is a permanent installation or a limited-time experiment, but sources say early business has been strong enough that expansion could be in the works. Some are already speculating about a second floating location or even a “Chick-fil-A Marina” concept.
If you’re planning a trip to Branson this season, adding a boat trip to the floating Chick-fil-A is quickly becoming a must-do activity. Just remember to bring your appetite — and maybe a life jacket.
This latest over-the-top attraction proves once again that if there’s a way to make something more ridiculous in Branson, someone will find it.
