Bears Crash Branson Backyard Pool Party, Burst Above-Ground Pool and Fly Out With the Water

A group of black bears turned a quiet Branson backyard into total chaos Tuesday when they climbed into an above-ground pool, causing it to burst and sending the bears flying out in a massive wave of water.

Witnesses say the bears wandered into a residential yard near Table Rock Lake and headed straight for the pool. Several climbed in at once. The combined weight and splashing caused the pool walls to collapse suddenly. A huge rush of water exploded outward, launching the bears into the air along with pool toys, chairs, and everything else inside.

“I was watching from my window when the whole thing just exploded,” one neighbor said. “The bears went flying through the air with all that water. It was like a giant bear water slide gone wrong.”

Video footage captured the moment shows the bears tumbling and splashing as the pool gave way. One bear was seen doing an accidental flip before landing in the grass, while others scrambled away soaked and confused. The backyard was left flooded, with pool debris scattered everywhere.

Animal control officers responded but had a difficult time getting close to the wet, agitated animals. The bears eventually wandered back into the nearby woods after the excitement.

The homeowner returned to find his pool completely destroyed and water still draining across the yard. “I just wanted a normal day,” he said. “Instead my pool is gone and there are bears everywhere.”

Local wildlife experts say the bears were likely looking to cool off during the warm spring weather. They recommend residents secure trash cans and remove any standing water that might attract curious animals.

This wild encounter has already gone viral, with videos of the flying bears racking up thousands of views. Many locals are calling it one of the funniest backyard incidents they’ve ever seen.

Cleanup is underway, and the homeowner says he’s now considering a much sturdier pool — or maybe just filling in the hole and calling it a day.

The situation is now under control, but residents will likely be laughing about the bear pool party for a long time.
