Concrete Mixer Truck Overturns in Branson Parking Lot, Spilling Cement Over Multiple Cars

A large concrete mixer truck overturned in a crowded Branson parking lot Wednesday afternoon, spilling hundreds of gallons of wet cement and covering multiple parked cars in thick gray sludge.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. as the fully loaded truck was turning in the lot. The vehicle tipped onto its side, causing the large rotating drum to crack open and pour concrete across a wide area. Several cars were directly in the path of the spill, with some vehicles buried up to their doors and windows in the heavy material.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic. “It sounded like thunder, then this gray wave just came rushing out,” said one shopper who was nearby. “A couple of cars got completely covered. You couldn’t even see the tires anymore.”

Emergency responders and cleanup crews arrived quickly. Heavy equipment is being used to break up and remove the hardening concrete, but the process is expected to take several hours. The parking lot remains partially closed, causing major inconvenience for nearby businesses and shoppers.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The driver was able to exit the truck safely.

The trucking company has taken responsibility for the accident and stated it will cover all cleanup costs as well as any damage to the affected vehicles. Investigators are looking into whether the truck turned too sharply while the drum was still spinning at full speed.

This is the latest in a string of heavy vehicle incidents in the Branson area as construction and tourism traffic continue to grow. Local officials say they will review traffic patterns around busy shopping areas to prevent similar accidents in the future.
